Terms of Service
Last updated: April 7, 2026
These terms explain what you are agreeing to when you use BuilderGrid. We have written them in plain language. If you have questions, email us at hello@buildergrid.com.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using BuilderGrid, you agree to these terms. If you are using BuilderGrid on behalf of a company, you represent that you have the authority to bind that company to these terms.
2. Description of service
BuilderGrid is a cloud-based construction management platform that helps contractors and builders manage projects, clients, estimates, invoices, scheduling, and field operations. We offer different plans with different features and limits as described on our pricing page.
3. Account registration and security
You need to create an account to use BuilderGrid. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Let us know immediately at hello@buildergrid.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must be at least 18 years old to use BuilderGrid. Accounts are for real individuals and businesses, not bots or automated accounts.
4. Subscription and billing
Plans and pricing. BuilderGrid offers monthly and annual subscription plans. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days notice.
Free trial. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required to start your trial. You will not be charged until after the trial period ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be billed. When your trial ends, you will need a paid subscription to continue using the service.
Billing. We charge your payment method at the start of each billing period. Annual plans are billed once per year upfront.
Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription from your account settings at any time. When you cancel, your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We do not charge cancellation fees.
Refunds. Monthly plans are non-refundable. Annual plans cancelled before the end of the subscription year may be eligible for a pro-rated refund for unused months. Contact us to request a refund.
5. Your data
You own your data. Everything you put into BuilderGrid belongs to you. We process your data to provide the service and nothing else.
You can export your data from your account settings at any time. We support standard export formats for all major data types.
If you delete your account, we will remove your data within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Data retention and deletion
Active accounts. While your BuilderGrid subscription is active, we retain all data you store on the platform including projects, photos, documents, contracts, and related records. Your data is subject to the storage limits of your current subscription plan.
Cancelled subscriptions. If your subscription is cancelled for any reason, your account will enter a 30-day grace period. During this period:
- Your data remains accessible and exportable.
- You will receive email notifications reminding you to export your data.
- You may reactivate your subscription at any time to resume normal service.
After the 30-day grace period expires, all data associated with your account will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. This includes all projects, photos, documents, contracts, invoices, client records, and any other data stored in BuilderGrid. This action cannot be undone.
Plan downgrades. If you downgrade to a plan with a lower storage limit and your current usage exceeds that limit, you will have 30 days to reduce your storage usage to within your new plan's limits. If usage is not reduced within 30 days, we reserve the right to remove files exceeding your plan limit, beginning with the oldest files first. We will notify you by email before any files are removed.
Data export. You may export your data at any time from Settings → Export. We provide data in standard formats. We strongly recommend exporting your data before cancelling your subscription.
Subcontractor and client portal users. Data belonging to subcontractors and clients who access BuilderGrid through shared portals is subject to the same retention policy as the company account that invited them.
7. Storage
Each BuilderGrid plan includes a storage allocation for photos, documents, contracts, and other files. Current storage limits by plan are listed on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time with notice.
Additional storage may be purchased on the Scale plan at the rates listed on our pricing page. Enterprise plans include unlimited storage.
If you exceed your plan's storage limit, you may purchase additional storage or upgrade your plan. Accounts that persistently exceed storage limits without purchasing additional storage may have file uploads temporarily restricted until usage is within plan limits.
We reserve the right to compress or optimize stored images to reduce storage consumption while maintaining reasonable image quality. Original files may not always be preserved in their exact uploaded format.
8. Artificial intelligence and data privacy
BuilderGrid uses artificial intelligence features powered by third-party AI providers to deliver insights, automation, and assistant capabilities within the platform.
AI privacy controls. Sensitive documents including contracts, NDAs, lien waivers, and documents you mark as private are not sent to AI systems for analysis by default. Each document has an AI access toggle that defaults to off for sensitive document types. You control which documents AI can reference.
Third-party AI processing. When AI features process your data, that data is transmitted to our AI provider for processing. Our AI provider processes this data on our behalf as a data processor and does not use your data to train their models under our enterprise agreement. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
No AI training on your data. BuilderGrid does not use your project data, photos, contracts, or business information to train AI models.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BuilderGrid to:
- Do anything illegal.
- Send spam or unsolicited messages through the platform.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems.
- Resell or redistribute the service without our written permission.
- Interfere with the security or reliability of the platform.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
10. Intellectual property
BuilderGrid owns the platform, including all software, design, and documentation. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the platform while your account is active.
You own your data and content. We do not claim any rights to your project information, photos, documents, or anything else you upload.
11. Limitation of liability
BuilderGrid is provided on an as-is basis. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or available 100% of the time.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuilderGrid's liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or data loss.
12. Dispute resolution
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@buildergrid.com. Most issues can be resolved quickly without lawyers.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Any legal disputes will be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
13. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will email you at least 30 days in advance. Your continued use of BuilderGrid after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
